What happens when my free trial ends?
You start with 7 days of Ultimate: meeting capture, tasks, AI and integrations. No payment details required. When the trial ends, you move to Free automatically. Your notes aren’t deleted, and you can keep writing, searching and exporting. Upgrade whenever you want the paid features back.
Does a bot join my meeting?
No. DayCarp captures sound from your own device. The Mac and Windows apps hear your online calls directly. In a browser, use the free Audio Helper, or share a meeting tab’s audio in Chrome or Edge. For in-person meetings, use your microphone. See the apps and Audio Helper.
Is everything processed on my device?
Transcription is: your meeting audio never leaves your device, and no recording is kept. Your transcript syncs with your notes. When you ask for an AI summary or answer, the relevant text is sent to DayCarp’s AI provider, or the provider or self-hosted model you choose. Read how privacy works.
How do tasks work?
Start any line with /TODO. It stays in your notes, and also shows up on the Tasks page with every other open task, grouped by due date. Give it a due date, nest subtasks under it, or switch to the week calendar and drag it to another day. Tasks are part of Pro, Ultimate and the trial.
Which devices and languages are supported?
DayCarp works on Mac, Windows and in your browser, including on phones and tablets. Native iPhone and iPad apps are coming soon. Meeting transcription is in English. See all downloads and requirements.
Can I use my own AI?
Yes. Pro and Ultimate include DayCarp AI, but you can also connect your own OpenAI or Anthropic API key, or a model you host with tools such as Ollama or LM Studio. API usage is billed by your provider and is separate from a ChatGPT or Claude subscription.
Do I need to tell people I’m capturing a meeting?
Yes. Let participants know you’re capturing and transcribing the conversation, and get any consent required where you are. DayCarp only listens when you start capture.
